When using LED light sources, such as the ISOLED G4 with 33SMD and 3.5W in warm white, it is essential to ensure adequate air circulation. Otherwise, the heat dissipated by the LEDs can build up, leading to excessive heating. Such overheating can shorten the service life of the light source and in some cases also impair safety.
To ensure that the ambient temperatures remain within the permissible values for the light source, the following points should be observed:
Installation: ensure that the light sources are not used in enclosed or poorly ventilated luminaires, unless these are specifically designed for LED light sources.
Distance: There should be sufficient space around the light source to allow air to flow freely and dissipate the heat.
Environment: The environment in which the LED light source is used should itself be well ventilated to prevent the build-up of heat.
Operating temperature: Check the specifications of your LED light source regarding operating temperatures and ensure that these conditions are met in your luminaire installation.
Correct handling of heat dissipation is not only important for the service life of the light source, but also for energy efficiency. An LED light source that gets too hot can lose efficiency, which counteracts the actual purpose of saving energy. By ensuring adequate air circulation, you help to ensure the optimum function and long-term durability of your ISOLED G4 LED light source.
