Ein Treiber, bei dem der Schutz gegen elektrische Schläge nicht nur auf der Basisisolierung beruht, sondern auch auf zusätzlichen Sicherheitsvorkehrungen, nämlich doppelter Isolierung oder verstärkte Isolierung. Solche Maßnahmen erfordern keine Erdungssysteme und hängen nicht von den Installationsbedingungen ab.
