A LED filament lamp is an electric light source in which LED filaments are housed in a glass bulb similar to an incandescent lamp. The LED filaments in this lamp are very reminiscent of the charm of the old incandescent lamps. Due to the lack of a heat sink, the light is also cast to the rear. Dark shadows are also a thing of the past with LED lamps. The lamp produces a pleasant warm white light and creates a cozy atmosphere. With large beam angles, the lamp is ideal for illuminating rooms. LED filament lamps consist largely of the same components as classic incandescent lamps with carbon filament or tungsten filament.

LED lamps and luminaires contain various electronic components. Under unfavorable conditions, these components can develop noise. In cases of resonance, even small noises can cause an audible effect. Possible influencing factors are the installation, the design of the base and the luminaire (acoustic resonance effect) as well as the dimmer or transformer (harmonic or electronic resonance).
