How are escape routes to be marked?

The marking of escape and rescue routes is regulated in ASR A1. 3 and complies with DIN EN ISO 7010. Escape routes are marked along their course with self-luminous or illuminated pictograms. The marking is often coupled with emergency lighting.

When must emergency exit signs be illuminated?

"Safety lighting must be provided (...) for safety signs of exits and escape routes" (Section 15 (2) No. 7 MVStättVO). This means that a photoluminescent sign "Emergency Exit" alone is not sufficient if it is used at the exit or in an escape route.

At what height must signs be placed?

Please make sure that the signs are uniform. The sign should be placed in the immediate vicinity of the extinguisher so that it is clearly visible from all sides. A height of 1.8m -2m has proven to be optimal.
